Join Us as We Celebrate Our Blessings of Liberty this Constitution Week!

Windsor and Severance, Colorado – The fourth annual Blessings of Liberty event will be held Saturday, September 21, in the Severance High School auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the program will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

The Blessings of Liberty event is the main feature of U.S. Constitution Week in Windsor and Severance, Colorado. Constitution Week is observed annually every September 17-23 to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

At this year’s event, attendees will be greeted by the Northern Colorado Colonials, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, and more. The program will feature the following:

·        Color guard, opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, preamble to the U.S. Constitution

·        National Anthem (Star Spangled Banner)

·        Community sing-along of patriotic songs such as God Bless America, America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Medley, This Land is Your Land, I’m Proud to be an American, and My Country ‘Tis of Thee

·        Keynote address “Tragedy & Triumph: The Greatest Anti-Slavery Movement Ever,” presented by Constitutional scholar Dr. Thomas Krannawitter

·        Patrick Henry “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech, presented by Liberty Common headmaster Bob Schaffer

·        Presentation of awards to 2024 winners of the annual U.S. Constitution Week Essay and Art Contest (TBD: An after-school program to equip students to develop high-quality entries is currently being planned. Stay tuned for details.)

K-12 U.S. Constitution Contest

All K-12 students are encouraged to participate, regardless of the county they live in. To help prepare students for the contest, students (grades 1-4) may attend the after school program offered at American Legacy Academy.
